Senior Mobility
By 2020, more than 50 million Americans will be 65 or older and at least 90 percent of them will be licensed to drive. The Lifelong Safe Mobility campaign targets issues concerning mature drivers, such as senior-friendly road design, vehicle safety improvements, and alternative transportation options.

Teen Drivers
Since appropriate driver education is essential to safe driving, AAA has assembled an array of programs and information to ensure teen drivers are knowledgeable and prepared. Licensed to Learn addresses the importance of appropriate training of young drivers, a core theme of AAA's efforts to have states pass graduated driver licensing laws. Courses for Teens focuses on parental involvement to combat the leading cause of death among teen-agers – motor vehicle crashes. While liberation and personal mobility may be of primary interest to a young person, a knowledgeable parent can help with the practical considerations in choosing a safe and reliable vehicle for a young driver.

Distracted Driving
Distracted driving - including the use of cell phones - is a major contributor to automobile crashes. Between 4,000 and 8,000 crashes related to distracted driving occur daily in the United States. In a year, they contribute to as many as one-half of the 6 million U.S. crashes reported annually. AAA has developed a 10-point plan to help address this issue. But the best advice is to avoid distractions whenever possible.
Impaired Driving
With alcohol as a factor in approximately 40 percent of the more than 40,000 deaths that occur each year in vehicle crashes, reducing crashes related to alcohol use is a priority for AAA. Based on research by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, AAA clubs will begin addressing the many complex aspects of this important issue at both a state and national level in order to contribute to the reduction of alcohol-related crashes.
Personal Safety
Keeping Kids Safe
Keeping children safe takes education for motorists and children. For Kids' Sake emphasizes the importance of educating motorists about vehicle safety issues concerning children and young drivers.
Various state laws regarding such topics as helmets, occupant protection, graduated driver licensing and more can be found here.

Consumer Protection
Fuel Efficiency Truth-In-Advertising Act
Responding to motorists' increasing concerns about incorrect gasoline mileage information for new cars, AAA is supporting a provision in the Senate transportation bill, which requires federal regulators to provide more accurate miles per gallon (mpg) estimates.
Right to Repair
The Motor Vehicle Owners’ Right to Repair Act would ensure consumer choice in auto repair. Right to Repair exists to ensure three facets when maintaining your vehicle: choice, safety and rights of ownership.
Car Care Month
Every year, participating AAA clubs offer free vehicle inspections and useful tips to help motorists prepare for winter driving conditions.
Great Battery Roundup
Held every year in conjunction with Earth Day, the AAA Great Battery Roundup is designed to encourage motorists to take old automotive or marine lead-acid batteries to a local collection point where they can be safely recycled and formed into new batteries.
For the Environment
Among the hallmarks of AAA’s work has been a dedication to continually improving safety for the motoring public. But we also recognize the need to balance environmental concerns with the public’s cherished right to travel and their right to a safe, efficient and flexible transportation system that meets their needs.

America on the Move
Americans have always been on the move, but we seldom pause to consider the role transportation has played in our nation's history and how it has influenced our everyday lives. That's the purpose of the Smithsonian's new exhibition, "America on the Move." AAA is a proud sponsor of the exhibition, which traces the evolution of the modern transportation system from the late 1800s to today. It does more than display trains, trucks, cars and ships - it tells a story about how transportation shaped our nation.
