The results are in for AAA’s fourth annual pet-travel photo contest and two dogs, one from Canada and the other from Colorado, will enjoy a year of fame as “cover dogs” on the next edition of Traveling With Your Pet: The AAA PetBook. This 10th edition will be published in May and features more than 13,000 pet-friendly, AAA Approved and Diamond Rated lodgings in the United States and Canada.
Best in show is Libby, a Goldendoodle from Ontario, Canada, who will appear on the back cover. The photo features Libby on vacation in Halifax, Nova Scotia, boldly perched on a rock in front of the Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse. The photo was submitted by Donna Allman who takes Libby along on vacation because she is part of the family and loves road trips. Ms. Allman said, “This book has made planning our vacations much easier on all of us.” Additionally Libby and Ms. Allman will receive $370 in AAA Visa Gift cards and five complimentary copies of the AAA PetBook to help them enjoy future travels.
Dory, a Shih Tzu from Grand Junction, Colorado, has been awarded the second place prize and will mark his territory on the book's spine. The photo features Dory (named for the dory rowing boats on the Colorado River) sitting on a kayak, all set to go for a ride. The photo was submitted by Daniel and LaDonna Ishida who said, “We travel with our pets because we enjoy their company, and vice versa.” In addition to Dory’s photo appearing on the cover, the Ishida’s will receive $100 in AAA Visa Gift cards and two copies of the AAA PetBook.
